Top is a 9422 mag made around 1974
Bottom is a 9410 made in 2001.
Picked up the 9422 mag on Saturday during a trip to Alabama and the 9410 was waiting for me this morning at the FFL.
The metal and wood on the 9422 look almost brand new.
I bet less than 100rds have been through it since new, but that's going to change next weekend.
The metal on the 9410 is also like brand new. The wood has a few slight handling marks but overall it's in excellent condition. I'm going to buy a couple of boxes of Remington Slugs this weekend and see what she'll do.
These are a couple of calibers I grew up shooting, just not in lever-action format. I remember shooting squirrels, rabbits, turkeys and an occasional coyote with both and both proved to be sufficient on them.
The fact that they're levers made me want them a tad more. I didn't get a screaming good deal on them, but I did pay a little less than they were going for prior to the factory shutting down. That made getting them a little more pleasurable.
God willing, I'll post a range report next weekend.
