If anybody knows of one, a buddy of mine in WA is looking for a '73 in .32 WCF.
I dunno how uncommon they are, but I thoughtI'd ask around...

OI.
I think you mean 32-20 AKA 32 WCF. .32 Spl is a 30-30 necked up to .32 cal.
just fyi.
A fairly common round for the 73 and not usually as pricy as the 38-40 &.44-40

I think you mean 32 WCF, which is 32-20. 32 Special is based on the 30-30 case, and is too long for the 73 action. Some people get the two confused, including sellers of guns.
The 32 WCF isn't "rare", but was not as common as the 44WCF (44-40) in the 73's. The 32's haven't had as much collectors attention until more recently. I see them fairly often at the shows, but don't know a lot about the 73's current values, or exactly what the ratio of the various calibers are in 73's.
Hope that helps some.
Dang I type slow!!!

The gun auction sites that I lurk around are now loaded with M.73's in 32/20. It seems as though the other calibers, 38/40 and 44/40 have been bought up to be used in SASS or as shooters. So the only ones left are the 32/20's and an occasional 22 Short or Long. M. 73's in general have gone up in price over the last couple of years from $ 800.00/1000.00 to around $ 1250.00 and up for the bottom guns. Nicer original 73's are now $1750.00 up. In numbers of production 22's- 2058, 38/40's - 28412 , 32/20's- 113652 and 44/40's with the largest producton being 44/40's - 576487. These a interpolated numbers from production records and are approximate only.

This is a very good buy on this Uberti 73 in 32-20. Fairly low production on these, and maybe less in the future! Original 1873 in 32-20 are hard to find with a good shootable bore.
