I have never seen this kind of stock before.

The photo isn't detailed or big enough for me to see with certainty but I think that it is a special order gun with pistol grip and a folded down tang peep that has had some damage and has a wrap. But I can't tell for certain.

It appears to be a TD Winchester 94 and had the wrist taken down on top and a pistol grip added and the lever reshaped. It doesn't appear to be curved, but just at an steeper angle than is normal.
Cropped and rotated it's a little easier to see:

Hobie I think you are right about the stock repair and sight. Is that a
Sh???en stock,must have been a special order rifle and is it a 76,86, or 94 ?
Rangerider7 is he a ranger from the southwest?

The more I look at it after Griff did the magic (I was too lazy to do) I think the angle is distorting the pistol grip and there is a tang sight on that 94 but nothing wrong with it. Might be the Schutzen butt but (I love double buts...) it doesn't have the ball ends...

that guy has pretty big hands
if you look at the fore-end it look like it is built up some also
he could have cut and fit the back of a stock to look like
a 92's. and the piece of metal he fashioned was probably about this shape to begin with, this type of stuff is not uncommon,
cowboys and time on their hands.
