OT-Theoben shoots well, food for the pot
I have a beagle that lets me know when ever a rabbit approaches any where near the back yard. At 30 yards, in both cases, future dinner presented itself. One shot each, and the deadly accurate Theoben .22 cal proved its worth.

No trouble at all. I have a high pressure air tank and a pcp hand pump. I leave the rifle charged at 3000psi and it only takes a few strokes on the hand pump to restore the pressure. After shooting these two bunnies, the pressure dropped to 2600, about 20 strokes topped it off and its ready to go again.

Mike,
I've looked at those on and off over the years but the total cost sort of put me off. Given my other interests I know that isn't really reasonable, BUT, just how much would one be talking for the rifle and support gear? Feel free to tell me to bug off if you'd rather not share...

pricing of Theoben
Hobie,
This rifle is actually for sale. Here is what they go for:
Rifle: Theoben Rapid E Deluxe - 7 shot mags (2) in .22cal. 30fpe and as I have posted, 5 shot, one hole targets at 10 meters. AT 50 yards, sub .5 inch groups. They list for $1300.
Scope: Bushnell 3200 4x 12 x 40 with mil dot reticle and target turrets
approx $325. The scope bases were about $40.
The hand pump goes for about 200 plus the attachment hose.
I would sell the Theoben with the rings, and pump for 1000. I am keeping the Bushnell scope for which ever air rifle I keep. I have another variable scope that I would include, a lepers variable with the sale of either rifle.
I am selling this rifle or the spring gas rifle I have pictured on a previous thread, one or the other. The spring Gas rifle I have is an HW-97K, a 16fpe .20 cal rifle. It has a lepers varaiable scope in a one piece mount. I would keep the Bushnell scope and sell the lepers with what ever rifle I sold. The HW-97K is $500.
It requires no air tank or floor pump.

The high pressure air tank is a carbon fiber tank, good to 4500psi. The one I got is from Air Hog. They can be filled at a variety of locals. I sold the hp air tank and just use the hand pump.

the hp air tanks can be filled at scuba shops (to 3000psi), paint ball shops, and some fire houses. Each takes a seperate adaptor to fill. My fire house filled mine but I found I could use the floor pump (a very heavy duty bike pump like pump) and it generates the 3000 psi very easily. The shop tanks you are speaking of Hobie do not generate 3000 psi air. You also want to use clean, oil free air when compressing it to this pressure, thats why breathing air is used.

Yep, that's why I asked to avoid confusion. Don't want that thing dieseling on you!rjohns94 wrote:the hp air tanks can be filled at scuba shops (to 3000psi), paint ball shops, and some fire houses. That is really neat and a really good price. I'm a little short of that at the moment though...

Hobie

well, If you were interested, sure we could come up with a plan that would work for you. forgot to mention that this barrel has a shroud, so the rifle is very quiet, even more so than a spring air gun and the trigger is measured in ounces and is adjustable.
