I decided I needed one more hobby!
After the beautiful holster I received from Chuck 100 yd and working with him on it, I guess the leather bug bit me.
I have slowly collected knives most my life and I hate having a knife without a sheath, so I figured I would give leather work a try. It took a few evenings of fiddling and I learned a lot with just one sheath under my belt but I'm very happy the way it turned out, just the way I wanted it! Not perfect but perfectly usable
More to come that's for sure.

Are you left handed?
For your first one, I think it is a work of art.

I have several pistols that the holster makers do not bother with.

I'm right handed but I wanted a sheath to wear on the left side, many times there is more real estate over there on my belt!
Go for it Mescalero, it's better than watching TV and very enjoyable pass time. I'm already planning the next one, it's a lot of fun.

Thanks guys, I got the idea for the strap from an older Buck Vanguard knife I have, I always liked how easy it is to unsnap and draw the knife. I'm thinking about designing a thumb break on the next one, make it work like a thumb break holster!
ollogger the knife is a Busse, Boss Street. They make limited runs of semi custom knives, then never make the same one again. Great knives and super steel, I'm thinking about stripping the coating off this one and give it a satin finish. I'm not one that cares for the coating but it's tuff and makes them pretty much impervious to the elements. Plus the coated ones are a little bit less expensive than the satin or bead blast finishes that Busse produces.

Scott, I'm not surprised at the quality of the your first knife sheath. Everything else you've done is high quality. This is no different, just a different medium. Great job.

I have been using the cross draw holster you built and just love it! it's the best fitting and most comfortable to use holster I have, I plan to wear it out, if I'm around long enough to do so

I just realized I have a knife without a sheath! I could send it to you and you could make one for it. I'm not trying to Tom Sawyer you or anything. Just want to be sure you have some knives to work with. Then I will field test it for you.
Beautiful workmanship I almost can't believe first time. I see the fastener folds over the handle, I had one like that and ended up cutting through the strap pulling out the blade in a hurry one time.
Hey Salvo, that's awesome work. I've just retired and in a small corner of my SIL's shop I'd have enough room for such a hobby. Do you use a machine to sew? Something like a Tippmann Boss perhaps or are you that good just sewing by hand?

Chuck I can see why you enjoy your craft so much, lots too learn and if you screw up it's very unforgiving but on the other hand you create exactly what you want and figure out how to get there. I think that was the fascinating part of the holster you built for me. I just wish I could have been there with you when you were creating the holster out of our ideas.
Bob, give it a go! I've been working on a game table and tooling on a granite counter top. It's all hand stitched, I got plenty of practice on the second one with the double rows, must have spent two evenings just stitching!
