Good news from Texas

Post by Old Ironsights »

From. http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2012/0 ... silencers/

Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission has voted unanimously to allow hunting with suppressors in the Lone Star state. That’s great news for hunters, who can now keep an ear out for those delicious critters without the risk of hearing loss. Arizona and Georgia are considering following suit, with significant steps forward in each state recently. Why it took so long to get a safety device approved for use I’ll never know.

only problem is that state law in the penal code now has to be changed or you can still be arrested for having one with you while in travel to and from. even if you have your tax stamp with you.

I know it saves your hearing and doesn't upset your neighbours so much but shooting a rifle with a suppressor is like drinkin' non alcoholic beer...

Mine is gathering dust in the safe, the suppressor not my beer!

I believe a legally registered silencer is allowed in Texas as an exemption to the Texas Penal Code because federal law replaces state law, but it's nowhere clearly stated as so. I say this because gun trusts are one way to avoid obtaining the signature of the local chief LEO when registering a silencer, and gun trusts are allowed in Texas.
