Malrin responded immediately with a new carrier at no charge - as suggested it now works very well.

J Miller - as per your request here are pictures of the carrier from my 1894 and the parts of the one which came apart. The retaining washer came off and the spring is missing.

Just found the thread. Great pic, shows the hole and the end of the rocker quite nicely.
Would you mind if I kept that pic and used it for reference in the future?

Just a question about the ejector spring, was that something you think you'll need or just spare?
