Will full size buttstock fit Ranch Hand?

Post by bluesman423 »

I tried a search but did not come up with an answer to my question.

Will a fullsize buttstock for a Rossi 92 fit a RanchHand? Is it a simple bolt on?

Sure would like to have a SBR 92 in 45 Colt.

AFAIK, they are standard receivers and will accept a standard buttstock.

$200 and a new buttstock and you've got a cool SBR.

That would be "Class III" paper work.

And you'll also have to wait for it to be processed. Something to consider while you're waiting. The law states that you can't have a SBR "or the parts to make an SBR" without the required tax stamp. You'd be technically in violation of the federal law if you had a the replacement Ross buttstock in your possession before you got the tax stamp.

In fact, some say that having 'any' buttstocks in your possession that are capable of making the Ranch Hand into an SBR in your possession is a violation, even if they are attached to a Rossi levergun. I think that the feds would have a hard time proving that you were in violation if you happened to have other leverguns in hand, but I'd check out the regs before I got the buttstock specifically for your Ranch Hand just to make sure.

Yes, -- this is something the short barreled AR15 crowd debates ad-nauseum too. Bury the buttstock in the backyard in a capped pvc pipe until the paperwork gets here
