Here's Brandon's and his first pheasant. The shotgun is our 1939 Iver Johnson Champion single shot .
Today's hunt turned up a pile of quail and this one pheasant.

Congratulations Brandon. Makes me wish I was that good with a shotgun.

Life is a storm, my young friend. You will bask in the sunlight one moment, be shattered on the rocks the next. What makes you a man is what you do when that storm comes.
Well done Brandon, congratulations..
My Iver Johnson is the nicest looking .410 I have owned but it has been restored by a previous owner with non standard parts, so I may sell it on and just keep my H.W. Cooey 84.
Whatever you do always give 100%........... unless you are donating blood.
Just had a thought. Like many, my first shotgun was a .410. I killed innumerable birds, rabbits, squirrels, etc with it. But as I grew I moved eventually to the 12 ga., and truthfully, I think I became a poorer shotgunner. I let the larger shot patterns make up for sloppier shooting. Or, maybe it's just that as a kid, I didn't know the .410 wasn't "enough".

Shucks 86er, that is just pretty darn neat. Bet you are busting your button's with pride. My son just turned 18 but he is more into fishing than hunting. I still have a framed picture of him with his first fish, a 2 lb catfish. God Bless.

TRUISM: if guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. So, my advice is: Buy more guns!
