Thank you all my friends! IT was and is a good one!

I bought myself a birthay present, since no one else would! Got my hands on a 85% super clean 1956 S&W M&P in .38Spj. 4" 'pencil barrel' all original and has a 100% clean bore and chambers. Action is tight and timing is perfect. It was not used very much over the years! This 'ole gal is just like the one I carried in the academy years back and so it brought a memory or two back to my old heart. Now I didn't go through the academy in 1956 though  I am an 'Old Ranger' but not quite that old!

So Yes, I'm having a good birthday indeed!! And thank you again for the kind remembering of this old trooper!

Now I know this isn't a lever gun range report, but that old '56 M&P is a tackdriver! I got set up this morning on my range out in the woods behind my place and fired off 18 rounds at 12.5 yds (mid combat range for me) and shooting single action, ate the X ring out of the target! And going double action at the same distance, put 12 into a group the size of a small teacup! Now that ain't bad for an oldman and an almost as old, wheelgun....

Plus I got in contact with my neice today. Haven't heard from her since 1982...It was a good birthday for me indeed! She's a mom now with 3 kids living on the west coast and I'm a great uncle and have been for a while but didn't know it until today! Yup, it WAS a good birthday for me......
