POLITICS - Obama and the U.N.
Now I got this a few days ago. I thought it was rather extreme. I will let you read it first:
"In light of a culture (Muslims) that is bent on our death and downfall, the constant attacks on our sovereignty & culture, out of control government spending etc... you should know the following: (1) Hillary Clinton is an admirer of Carl Marx, the father of Marxism (Communism) and proponent of increased government control of your life, including taxing you into bankruptcy to hand the money to "the poor" and (2) Obama who is even worse. Right now Obama is a major sponsor of a bill in the Senate (S.2433), called the Global Poverty Act, which will basically give the U.N., the most corrupt organization on planet earth, the authority to impose a global tax. The U.S. would be obligated to pay to the U.N. .7% of our GNP ($850 Billion by 2015) so they can end global poverty. You CANNOT end poverty by throwing money at it, look at our inner city and welfare class. It also contains wording asking for global bans on small arms (Gun Control). Please take a few minutes, if you give a darned about our great nation, and research this bill. They are trying hard to move us from democracy and capitalism to socialism or worse. Be an informed voter."
Sounds pretty harsh to me so I checked it out.

World poverty cannot be addressed by throwing money at it. It needs to be addressed IN the country where it is happening, by the people of that country, and via a broad platform, including addressing over-population, worker and wage conditions, environment, politics (e.g., selfish dictators), etc., etc. The world wants what we have, and will take from us until we are just like them!

Didn't we have something called House Of UnAmerican Activities Committee in the 50s headed by somebody called McCarthy?
It seems they didn't get rid of the communists in our country did they?
We have freedom here, but unless certain things are brought under control we are going to loose it. And communism in our elected officials is running amuck. In many countries communism and Nazism are banned. We need to do that here.
The only problem is the communists, socialists, Marxists, all call themselves liberals in the U.S.
So how do we tell the difference between an actual liberal, and the others?
By looking at their records, what they propose, the bills they support and the programs they want to initiate.
Obama, Clinton, are communists. They need to be retired from public service.
We need a nationwide mind meld to convince everybody not to vote for them or anybody like them.

I just looked into this myself. I agree that simply throwing money at the problem is no solution at all. I also think that the BILLIONS we're talking about could be much better spent. We'll end up with some a**hole like Saddam stealing the food and medicine we send and locking it up in a bunch of warehouses.
The thing I'm unsure about is where there is a link between this bill and the anti-gun movement. I read three versions of the bill, and downloaded the UN Millennium Development Goals Report for 2007. We all know that the liberals want to disarm us and the UN would like to do it on a global scale, but if this bill is part of the plan I can't find the connection.
Maybe someone can point out something that I'm missing. I'm a real stickler for making sure I understand the facts. By all means, if I did miss something, please tell me.
We have to be careful not to be distracted; making sure of the facts is an important part of remaining vigilant in our defense of our Second Amendment rights. Like magicians, these people will use misdirection to pull our attention away while they pull a fast one.
Am I paranoid? No. Paranoia is unjustified. These people really do want to disarm us.

Millions upon millions of folks murdered in the 20th century alone would agree that Socialism is the scourge of the earth. Unfortunately they can no longer speak. Why socialism is even looked at as a viable political system, in the light of history, is beyond reckoning. Despite how tragically rediculous socialism has proved itself to be, about 1/2 of our country is on board with heading our nation that way and tying us in with the similar value system of the International Community(via the UN). Every election from here on out is going to absolutely critical as to whether we keep going down the toilet.
As an aside, I had an interesting conversation with my neighbor the other day while we watched our children play at the park. He thought it was great what China was doing with the 1 child only population control, even though it involves forced abortion and social/financial sanctions against families who violate it. He thought it is a great thing for Mother Earth and a direction we need to head even if it involves forcing people to have less kids. This is a man who is highly educated! I told him that was one of the most evil things that I have ever heard of and the family seems unwilling to speak to me at this point. We are fighting a depravity of mind here and these are very committed folks. That conversation scarred the living daylights out of me and was another wake up call amidst many others.

Azmark,
You are right, as I can also find no mention of arms control in the proposed bill. As I said, I just copied what I received in the original e-mail to me. And when I did the research, I didn't really look for that connection, more the overall truth of the proposal itself and Obama's support.
However, if you read the full U.N. report here:
http://www.unmillenniumproject.org/repo ... report.htm
you will see that they talk a great deal about conflict prevention, and hidden about 60% of the way into it (page 184), they refer to "Proper regulation of weapons..." as an essential pillar of conflict prevention. It's a weak association, I agree, but given the U.N.'s past action, I have no doubt about their intent.

There can be no doubt that the U.N. wants to disarm the world's population. That group, along with our own liberal citizenry, would have some huge organization play 'Daddy' to all of us poor ignorant souls who think we are capable of governing ourselves.
It's pitiful to think that people in positions of power have no knowledge of history or grasp of human nature. Anyone with a minimum of education knows that civilization was started as groups of people banding together to protect what was theirs from groups who made their living by taking other peoples' stuff. Greed and violence will always exist. It's deplorable that someone who claims to have good intentions would insist that individuals be left to the mercy of those who have no respect for other people.
Back to the U.N.'s Millennium Development Goals. This is a separate issue from disarmament. We need to have our facts straight when we argue against the gun-snatchers. Gun owners, the NRA, and proponents of the Second Amendment in general are already being portrayed on TV, in movies, and in the popular media as some kind of backwards ignorant rednecks and that really irritates me. I bet it would irritate our Founding Fathers, too.
Dang, I just can't seem to keep from climbing up on that soapbox

alnitak, thank you for posting. Yes this situation is very real, not just with Obama but with any associated with the CFR. I strongly urge all to read from their very own website what this "non-partisan" think tank is discussing. Any who are not critical of the U.N. and settle for nothing less than U.S. removal from this organization are selling us out, including republicans.

At some point, this will cease to be a conflict to preserve our hobbies, and ideals, and start being a war to save America. I hope the other side is prepared to engage, because I certainly am.

It's on now, and has been for sometime, we're trying to claw our way back up the slippery slope. I'd rather do it by voting, but our founding fathers did warn us and gave us the O.K. to save our Republic by other means. Stay prepared and help others prepare, glad we're all on the same side here.At some point, this will cease to be a conflict to preserve our hobbies, and ideals, and start being a war to save America.
