Winter Challenge II - More combo pictures

Post by rjohns94 »

Here are more shots of combos I have put together. Changed out some from previous pictures as I have made changes in the past week or so.

First up is the 39TDS in .22lr and the freedom arms .22lr/.22mag premiere with 4 1/4" barrel. The damascus fixed blade is from a guy in North Carolina.

window number two: Browning 1886 45-70 and the freedom arms 45LC, 5 1/2 inch octagon barrel, gold bead fron sight, adjustable rear, elpaso leather set up in a cross draw fashion, and Randall Bowie

Image

window number three: Custom built Brad Emig Virginia Rilfe in .54cal, custom possibles bag, powder horn, hand forged bowie, and hand forged belt axe with hand sown sheath. The rifle stock is high grade cherry, has a swamped custom barrel in brown, a silas lock, and is adorned with a wooden patch box, brass hardware, and german silver coat of arms, compass motief, and front sight. I have taken more deer with this rifle then any other.

Window number four: Shiloh Sharps .50 cal 3-band military rifle and Ruger .45 cal Horse Pistol with R&D extra cylinder in .50cal

Image

window number five: Springfield M6 survival rifle in .22lr/.410, Sig 220 Elite in .45, Smith 317 in .22lr with new stag grips, randall 10-7 knife - my fishing and boating knife, smith j-frame in 38+P with oversize stag grips, my constant companion, Leatherman Wave.

I have not yet taken pictures of the Rohrbaugh 9mm pocket gun yet and I didn't repost the Socum or pics of the hammer 12gauge or air rifles. What do you think?

I like the way you think, putting together sets for any eventuality. I especially like the muzzle loader combo I am putting together something like that to mount in my den. That rustic stuff really looks sharp :D

It really IS fun to think of combinations that 'work' together - same chambering, same vintage, same 'look' or a series of some sort. Wives look kind of sideways when you lay your 'toys' out on the living room floor to take pictures, though.

Whenever I make up those kinds of 'sets' it gets my kids to arguing about which ones THEY'LL get when I croak.

Window #3 takes the cake having them hand made tools in there. I really like the axe.

I got to thinking the other day and realized I have a combo now too. My .50 ML and the my Old Army. I have only one knife though, and it is some kind of old military looking something-or-another. It don't really jive with the blackpowder theme. :D

I don't have that problem - only one son and one daughter. She will get a few - he'll get the rest. She's going to get her Mom's jewelry, so she won't be shorted! Now, if I can keep them until I croak...

Mike - great post! I will see if I can get the time this weekend to put together a few combo's myself! :D
