Range Report with pics

Post by Dastook »

Tried out my new LSI Rossi 92, .357 today. This is off a bench, factory open sights at 100yds. I loaded 158gr. Speer JSP over 14.7gr. 2400. Actually the first three I shot at 100 yards are the three that are touching. I should have stopped there cause the last two sailed a little. All in all I am well pleased with this little carbine. I paid $460.00 NIB at Gander Mt., believe it or not. Rossi, I think is making a better product these days. I am well pleased with this carbine. The blue job is very good, deep and rich. The wood is the best I have seen on a Rossi. I think I may have a shooter here.

Good shooting! I'm impressed with my Rossi too, I got the same one from Big5 awhile back. Last time I went shooting, it outshot my Marlin 1894CB at 100 yds. I was going to trim the barrel down to 16" but I may just leave it alone.

I was visiting a newly relocated gun shop today and they had a few of the Rossi's in 45LC 16" & 20" models for $325.00 it was hard not to buy one! Never have seen them that reasonably priced before.

Dastook,

How's the trigger on your new Rossi?
I guess it can't be too bad with such good results out of the box.
I've been thinking about the same rifle in 45LC at my local Big 5.

The pull is real crisp and clean however it is pretty heavy. I havn't checked it but I would say about six to seven pounds.

Congrats and thanks for the range report with pictures!

Does it have one of "those" safeties on it? :( I sent mine off to our own Steve Young (Nate Kiowa Jones) years before even hearing about this forum and had it cut to 16", safety removed, and an action job. It is by far the slickest lever I own and a sheer joy to shoot! :D
