Prayers Needed

Hey folks, I've not posted here much at all, though I check in almost daily to read what you all are posting.....

I'm asking a special favor.....

My son, Rob, is in the hospital with a "spontaneous pnuemothorax" - collapsed lung.
He'll be headed for surgery in the next day or so to repair it, and we would be very grateful to you all if you could offer up a prayer for him and his surgical team.
You know, through this I've discovered that no matter how old your kids are, (he's 22) they're still your babies when they're lying there with a chest tube and an IV......and I wish I could trade places with him.

Sorry to hear that. I have been through that twice myself and while it isn't any fun it works out OK. Hopefully they can hold his lung to the chest wall and things will resolve without surgery. Sent one for you all.

I just can't say THANKS enough!!!
Hard to admit, but I teared up a bit when I saw all of the response from you guys!

1:30am we talked with one of the thoracic doctors - they're planning surgery for Friday, unless they have a cancellation tomorrow...

Without going into the gritty details, prayers have been answered already, since I posted this request!

Hallelujah!
Rob had surgery today at 2:35pm
We just talked with his surgeon and he said Rob came through like a champ!
He said it was rewarding to operate on such a healthy young man with otherwise very healthy lungs!
Two minor incisions, about an inch each, and he should be able to come home Monday!
They repaired the leaky bleb on the lung and abraded the inside of the chest wall to help insure that this doesn't happen again so he'll be sore for a couple weeks, but should be as good as new!

My son got home last night!
It is such a relief having him home!
Its been two long weeks......
He's a little sore, but overall is doing great!

Thanks again for your prayers, and please continue to pray for continued healing......
