Not sure when he made this speech but it's pretty riveting to listen to...

Comal, I saw the video, but I can't take the guy seriously. He's not running for president, and even if he was, I really can't look up to a guy who was trying to impeach Clinton for infidelity all the while he was having an extra-marital affair of his own. Just more of same.

I think Newt would make a good VP for John McCain.

Gingrich is irrelevant. Anytime he starts talking about a social contract, the best thing to do is just turn and walk away.

Talks the talk, but doesn't walk the walk.

:o
Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

Tutt, The impeachment process was over perjury, not adultery.

That is true enough. He seems to change to do what is most expedient rregardless of stated principle.
Sincerely,

+3 Clinton lied under oath to save his rear end pertaining to a matter he was being investigated for - a pattern of sexual harassment. What he did with Monica - and his lie under oath to cover it up - confirmed a pattern. He lied not do to embarassment over being an adulterous vermin - he knew his folks would forgive him for that (heck, married to Hillary, I think most of us would have gave him a pass on that one! ), but rather, to save his skin in the civil trial. In any case, perjury was what he was charged with, perjury falls under the "high crimes and misdemeanors" classification, and the House was 100% correct in impeaching him. The Senate should have done it's job and removed the scumbag from office - if for nothing else than to show every future President and most elected officials - as well as the country - that respect for the law is a requirement of holding office, not an afterthought...

Hobie, what really makes my teeth grind is Newt's hypocrisy on this matter. I'm not defending Clinton by ANY means, but Newt isn't much better a man as far as I'm concerned.

Gee, he never mentions the "why". http://www.history.navy.mil/library/onl ... .htm#intro More fear, smoke & mirrors. Talk all day about the symptoms but never the cure. The Constitutional/founding fathers advice cure.

He's a politician aint he? If they actually fixed things they wouldn't be needed after awhile. I call it job security.

A legal issue vs. a moral issue. Which one is worse? All a matter of opinion. Judged now or judged later...

For a Christian, judged now is worse. We won't be judged later, for we are already judged and found innocent.
