The EABCO 97D Falling Block Rifle:
http://www.eabco.com/store/products/Sta ... 35-56.html
With the exception of the .17 HMR, the cals are all based on the .30-30 so brass should be easy to come by for years.
Starts at $1K though....

Nice, but I think I'd rather have the baby sharps.

Re: Hey OSOK, remember that Half Pint Sharps thread?
I got to digging around and reading up on the 97D and the feedback is split. A couple of threads suggested a used Ruger No1 could be had and rebarreled for about the same money. I've never given the No1 much thought since they're usually out of my price range so of course I had to go searching.
Now I have 5 on my watch list at Guns International and I have the hots for a .303 Brit No1.
How did my attempt to get OSOK's blood pumping turn around on me?

Not sure I'd call them reasonable but it don't cost nuthin to window shop.O.S.O.K. wrote:So you found some reasonably priced NO. 1's huh? Good hunting!!
Fear not, you'll have plenty of time to get that beauty rest. I'm out of trading fodder, the fun fund is in the negative and I still have 2-3 projects to get done before even seriously considering a new toy.model55 wrote:awp101 ,if you get a no1 in 303 b I'll not let you rest till there is a range report with photos.i'll

I am wanting a Ruger #1B rebarreled in 6.5-06 some kinda bad right now !awp101 wrote: A couple of threads suggested a used Ruger No1 could be had and rebarreled for about the same money.
Also a factory Ruger #1V in 6.5 Creedmore for a bench gun .
And as you said in another post , my gun fund is way down also !

Re: Hey OSOK, remember that Half Pint Sharps thread?
Don't get me wrong I like Sharps's rifles be it the original ones , the Shiloh/C Sharps ones or the Little Sharps rifles . However I've never considered them as something I would wanna shoot alot . Not that there's anything wrong with doing that !
For a vintage/retro type gun and one I think I would get more use out of . I'd be more inclined to go with an original Stevens 44 1/2 in 32-40 or a retro CPA 44 1/2 in 25-21 , 28-30 or 32-40 . But thats just me .
For a hunting/varmint or bench gun I'm more inclined to go with a Ruger #1 or possibly a Browning B-78 . And again thats just me !
