Prayers needed for my friend and his grandson

Post by awp101 »

About a year and a half ago, my best friend Gary received his first grandchild. Unfortunately he was born with a form of muscular dystrophy and requires around the clock care at home.

This evening Gary sent me an email that while his son, DiL and grandson (Jaxon) were on the way to church, the nurse saw Jaxon wasn't breathing and was turning purple. They rushed him to the nearest hospital where the ER did CPR to restart his heart. Last word I have is Jaxon is in the ICU of a children's hospital and in a coma with an unknown prognosis.

Any thoughts and prayers that can be spared for the whole family would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...

Will do Mike. I have no update as of yet and I'm not going to call in case they're catching up on sleep, etc.

Many thanks to those who have posted and those who've just read and said a little prayer to themselves.

I just got this email from him:

The EEG showed that Jaxon suffered massive brain damage when he stopped breathing yesterday. His autonomic nervous is still working but that is about all. He is not brain dead. However, the damage will cause a domino effect and continue to damage the brain. Should he survive this, he will be in a vegetative state. However, we got the impression that he will not survive. We don't know how long he will last.

I've been staring at this for about 5 minutes and I simply don't have any words...

Once again, thanks to all.

The latest news isn't good. He meets 13 of the 14 criterea to be considered brain dead. It seems his brain stem is the only thing keeping him going. Now it's in God's hands and just a matter of time...

Prayers are still up for the little guy and the family. I hope they can find some peace.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.
