30-30 cast bullet vs. Milk Jugs

Post by Whit Spurzon »

How many Milk Jugs does it take to catch a 170 grain LaserCast TruShot bullet going 1523 fps out of an old Winchester 30-30?

Find out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1E4abzmvio0

How about some video of a Ruger New Vaquero taking on the 50 yard Plate?

Got some 45-70 video too but needs to be edited. Hope to get it up soon.

Surprising - the 45/70 was more impressive but this one demonstrates the 45/70 accuracy.

Amazing, and such light recoil!

On the 45-70 vid - the vid of the bullets hitting the gong at 400 yards - the sound arrived just ahead of the bullet - meaning that hte bullets were traveling at an average fps just below the speed of sound - cool!!

If you know your sites with this load and have a range finder with you, there's no reason not to take this elk hunting and make 400 yard shots!

The 405 Laser cast will go through and through even at the 700 fps or so that its traveling at impact...

Whit,
Interesting report. Thank you.
Awile back I tested a 1930's vintage 30-30 160 gr FMC round on some wet newsprint and it penetrated 32" of material.
