Gentlemen,
For those of you who like such things, someone is selling this "This is a brand new unfired Browning version of the Winchester 1886 Saddle Ring Carbine in 45/70 caliber.":
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... m=92378181
The "buy it now" price is near US$6,000!

I don't doubt he would charge that much, but it isn't worth that much to me. To each his own.

I have no aversion to this type of upgrade and maybe someday, I might actually have one done BUT if anyone thinks that they can pay to have all that done and make money off it is NUTS. They are a work of art that is to be kept and treasured for what it is. I suppose anyone can run on to hards times and be forced to sell but that is the only rational reason that I can see for doing so. Otherwise, take a big stack of cash into the bathroom to use for TP. It will get rid of the same amount of money and save time in the long run.

Yep! Pretty much the same kind of deal when you set out to restore an old car. Your gonna spend a pile of cash and you will never get it back. Best to go buy one done up and let the other guy take the bath!Leverluver wrote:I have no aversion to this type of upgrade and maybe someday, I might actually have one done BUT if anyone thinks that they can pay to have all that done and make money off it is NUTS.
