This had a broken stock and I got it cheap. I repaired and refinished the stock.

My mother has the twin to that. It's been her deer rifle for the past 35 years or so. I wish marlin would have stayed with the straight stock, classy lines.

I have a Lee 405 grain .459HB mold. I believe I can get it to shoot ok if I shoot them unsized.

I would think so.
Brian Pearce in Handloader has stated that he's had no trouble getting his to shoot - just need them over-bore diameter. But I've found that to be true for most all of my Marlins, Winchesters, Rossi, etc.

I LIKE IT too! That is a fine looking rifle. Good job on the repair and refinish.
I like it as well. That forearm looks to be tastefully slimmer than the usual tree trunks that Marlin puts on most of their stuff too. I wish they made Marlins in this style again. Hopefully they will after Remington gets their quality control issues resolved.
