OT ... a bit - Forster service is excellent.

Post by J Miller »

Somewhere around 27 years ago I bought a Forster case trimmer. Over the years I've trimmed a gazillion cases with it. Eventually it got dull. On the fifth of this month I sent the cutter shaft to Forster for their sharpening service. $8.00 and 9 days later it's back all sharpened up and ready to go.

Very good service, two thumbs up.

That's good to hear. They are tops with me, too.

I rarely mention I'm a Forster nut, because doing so usually gets you labeled as some sort of reloading snob by all the Lee acolytes. Don't you just love reverse discrimination?

RSY,

I've never had anyone call me a snob because of what I use. I don't look down my nose at anybody because they use any other brand of equipment. It'd be kind of hard for anyone to do that considering I use several brands including some Lee.

I'm tempted though to buy a set of Forster bench rest dies for my 30-30, 308, and 30-06. But I keep putting it off. Maybe later. My Bonanza Co-AX presses with the RCBS dies make very good ammo.

victor,
I've been looking at that hollow pointer kit too. I've never used one, but I'm interested. Not sure why but I am.

Joe -

I always enjoy hearing positive reports about companies. I like to patronize those companies that do right by their customers - especially shooters!!!

Thanks :D

Forster is still one of those small American companies that will go out of their way to please. They have made me several inside neck reamers, even going the extra mile when I needed a half thousandths measurement. The sharpness on their case trimmers, like Joe says, "last forever". In fact, on two occasions, when I was discussing a problem with the tech, he called his machinist to come talk to me on the phone.

This is why I insist on buying American, what little is left to buy.------Sixgun

My Forstner trimmer is one of the nicest I have used. I try to find their products when I can, just because I've been so happy with the trimmer.

If you can't find Forster products locally you can buy direct from them.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Lee stuff made in the USA?

True, but...

As much as I love Forster/Bonanza, it's much cheaper to buy their stuff from an online catalog shop like Graf & Sons ( www.grafs.com ).
