OT-Movie Recommendation: Tracker
I just got through watching a very well written and acted movie almost a western except further west, way west to New Zealand. The movie is called Tracker and it came out in 2010. It takes place in 1903 New Zealand a year following the second Boer War in South Africa. An Afrikaner veteran of the Boer War has just immigrated to New Zealand and is hired by the British authorities to track down a man accused of killing a soldier. This experienced tracker has allot of issues to deal with from his war past. and how they effect him on his mission to capture this accused murder a native Maori in his own element. I won't say more but it was way better than I expected. The tracker uses both a Mauser Rifle, and a Mauser 96 automatic pistol. The Brits in New Zealand were using Martini Henrys which I thought was unusual the Lee Metford being into service several year by then but maybe in far flung corners of the empire especially in places that were peaceful the Martini Henry was still used. Just a guess. Anyways nice to see old guns in action in a very good movie. Go put it on your Netflix list.

Thanks, Ji.
Sounds like a good one.

Sounds like a good one.
Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.
History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

That does sound good. I'll have to ask the wife to look for it.

Thanks Ji, must be fairly popular movie. I sent it to my queue, and it went to the saved list, availability unknown. Oh well, some thing to look forward to.
