Just wanted to extend a special Thank You to JMiller, and Chuck 100 yd for their words of encouragement to this beginner on mounting this Williams FP sight on my NIB Dodge Truck Commemorative 30-30 that was an Anniversary gift from my wife. You guys were right, it was easy! Tomorrow happens to be my 10th anniversary, and we are taking a long weekend to our cabin in the woods. The gun will not be NIB after tomorrow. Heres a fuzzy picture of the sight, and another of the wife and I. Thanks again guys, I will post results on KirkD's winter challenge.

Yes, they are called many different things. Old Savage hit the actual name..Dorado. Most people call them Mahi-Mahi. Very good to eat, fun to catch too. This one tired the wife out fast, she got scared it was pulling her too hard.I had to take the rod over for her, almost lost it to a 12 foot Hammer Head. My brother in law was quick to get it in the boat when I got it close enough.
I used to do a quite a bit of offshore fishing in So. Cal in the early 70's. Yellowtail, Bluefins and albacore kept your skills with the drag pretty sharp.
Dang, always wanted to catch and eat one of those, but never have. Hear tell all you have to find is a decent piece of flotsam somewhere and start fishing. Anyway, beautiful fish, I'm jealous.
Fishermen around here still call them "dolphin". We call the air breathing mammals "porpoise". The restaurants call it "mahi mahi" so they don't scare the tourists into thinking they are eating Flipper.
I actually caught this fish in your neck of the woods. Offshore from West Palm Beach. The wife is from there. We visit her family often, especially in late winter.

You caught it in the same state, but not my neck of the woods. I live in the Pensacola area, about 600 miles up the road
WPB is a beautiful area and great for fishing. I spent a summer there on a job assignment about 25 years ago. My employer put me up in a beach hotel on Singer Island. A great summer.
