New 94!

Post by yooper2 »

Acquired another model 94 carbine today. 32 Special for only $125, its missing a lot of bluing from the barrel in one spot. I think it sat in an upside down gun rack in the back of a truck or something for many years. I think it will sit in the same position in the back of my truck. The bore is perfect though and the action is tight which is all I really care about. If I can borrow a digital camera from one of my roommates I will get some pictures on here. Despite the fact that this is my 3rd 94 carbine and its a bit messed up I'm as excited as can be. Whats better than another Winchester?

I would be excited about any decent shooting 94 I could get for $125! Especially in 32 Win Special. Nice grab and congrats. Let me know if you come across any more deals like that one, I may be in the market

Man, I'd have ripped my back pocket off getting my wallet out at that price...

Good deal!

Are you going to touch-up the bluing at that spot or shoot her as is?

Congratulations! Last week I saw Pre-64 94 in the local Craigslist ( in Know, firearms tabu on Craigslist but no one caught it before I saw it). The owner wanted to trade it for a pump shotgun with extended magazine. I emailed him so quick my finger tips hurt, but after a week no reply.

I think I'm just going to leave the bluing alone since it's going to be a truck gun but I'm not totally decided. I also have a set of dies already because my grandfather had a rifle in this caliber that he sold, somehow I acquired the dies. My plan is to take it out shooting tomorrow assuming I load up some ammo tonight. Its just another light handy rifle for poking around the wilds of the beautiful Upper Peninsula.

Wow. I find a decent deal from time to time but never anything like this. You basically paid the amount of the tax on the actual value of the rifle. Congrats!!!

Looking forward to the pics and range report!
