Special Bonus Trip to Colt

As a very special bonus, the high bidder will be invited to visit the Colt Factory in Hartford, Connecticut on March 29, 2011-the official 100th Anniversary of the U.S. Army's approval of the 1911 as the U.S. Army sidearm. Winner will be given a private tour of the factory, will have lunch with Colt Management, receive a package of special Colt logo items and collectibles and will have photos taken with the Colt engravers. During this visit, the high bidder will visit the Colt Historical Department and will be presented with an official document authenticated his Colt as the one and only 100th Anniversary 1911 featured as the 2011 SHOT Show gun and featuring the historic 1911COLT2011 Serial number. And to top off this special package, the high bidder will have the opportunity to have his or her initials engraved on spare mainspring housing as a keepsake or to have installed on their 1911. Hotel and travel included but restrictions may apply.

I'll tell you this ,, If I could afford to get in this auction I would! This gun has to be worth a fortune today and everyday after this.. The price of this gun will just keep going up and up every time it's sold.

Wow that's a pretty Colt. It's probably just as well that I can't afford to bid on it. Cos if I won it, the first thing I'd do is take it out and shoot it.

I think it's a neat piece, but for the money they're getting I'd think it would be completely engraved and probably a sizeable amount of gold inlaid.

Yes that is very cool. I love the deep Colt blue. I am seriously considering getting my handgun licence here and getting a much wanted 1911.

Might have something to do with the fact that I am currently training with our new S&W .40 for LE.

It would be a great carry gun if you added some XS Big Dots and a ambi safety. Maybe a laser guide rod too.
