OT - Anyone have a Gamo air rifle with "Tru glo"

Post by AmBraCol »

I need to know how tall the tru glo front sight is on a Gamo air rifle - I understand that it's a smaller dovetail than normal, that's not a problem - a file can do a lot towards fixing such things. What I need to know is how tall it is so I can order a replacement sight of appropriate height and better configuration. I'm thinking of a Marbles or Williams bead front, but don't know how tall it should be. Methinks Gamo uses pretty much the same Truglo sight on all their rifles, of course I could be mistaken. Anyway, any help in figuring it out would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I have one, you need to tell me where I need to take the measurement from.
I will use my Eatalon calipers, so the measurement will be precise

Thank you, sir. To my understanding, the sight height is measured from the top of the dovetail to the top of the sight. Let's say it's mounted straight on the barrel, then the height would be from the top of the barrel to the top of the sight. If it's on a ramp then it would be from the top of the ramp to the top of the sight.

Thanks!

Great! Thanks! I'm picking one up here in a few days and hope to replace the true glo with something a bit more traditional. Now to check out what is available from Brownell's and Midway.

Thanks!
