Update - went to look at the reblued Win 92 .32-20

Post by cubrock »

I went to the dealer to look at the Win 92 I had posted about earlier. The reblue left the original markings alone, but there were several spots of light pitting and nicks on the receiver that were blued over. They weren't that noticeable, but they were there. Bore was excellent. Wood fit was okay, but not great. Action was smooth and tight. The gun evidently originally had a button mag, as there was a slot in the barrel for it. It is currently wearing a longer mag.

Coulda had it for $740 OTD. It was a very handy gun and I liked it, but I decided to leave it. Another guy was in line to buy it behind me, so I assume he did.

At any rate, I feel it was worth the money as a shooter, but the quality of the reblue, wood fit, and the mag change bothered me just enough to save my money. I'm sure the other guy will be happy with it.

Thanks for your opinions, all! I appreciate the input.

He was behind me on-line. The shop owner told me after I declined it he had to email him. I never met him, but that is a capital idea for next time!

That spot is already taken for the original 92 SRC I could have had a few weeks ago for $600ish.
