Firing Pin for My 36D?

Post by GANJIRO »

I need a new firing pin for my Marlin model 36D in 30/30, Numrich has them only for the older 1893, and the 336. Will any of these fit the model 36D? Is there another online source for firing pins for older Marlins? THANKS!

Boy Ji, I'm glad I read this post. I just got in from work @ 4 AM and I thought you had something wrong with your bra.

I have seen a Marlin 1893 rebarreled with a Marlin 36 barrel. The bolt on a 36 looks very similar to the bolt on the 1893. If I had to get a firing pin, I would order the 1893 pin, and see how close it is to you broken one, when it arrives.

Good luck on your Safari. At least you disovered the problem before you hauled the rifle with you, 1/3 the way around the world. That Gibbs Lee Enfield should be a mighty "pinch-hitter" for a lever gun.
