OT New Rifle (photos added)
Not a levergun but a beautiful rifle none the less. Just aquired a NIB Ruger 77 Hawkeye standard variant in 270 Winchester. The wood grain is beautiful and the trigger breaks like a glass rod at approximately 3 pounds. I picked it up at a new gun shop in town. Got it for $747 out the door. Plan to put a 2-7 power Redfield on it. How did I do?

.270 in a remington was my first bolt action. Wrestled with going with the 30-06 or the .270 and went with the .270 because of Mr. Jack C's writings. I wish you much luck and success with that rifle. lets see some range reports and game animals !!!

That's a nice rifle, but I think you paid about $200.00 too much for it, it's got no sights. Rifles need sights. Carrying handles are fine, but when they break you need sights.

Classic caliber, nice wood stock, blued finish --- what's not to like? Maybe not a levergun, but still a nice example of a "Rifleman's rifle"

Nice looking rifle in a great caliber. Now you can post some pictures for old DAD. He keeps telling he will someday.
