A Great Deal coninues
I posted earlier this month about the 6 guns I got for $800. Well the upshot of it is I gave the Ruger BlackHawk .357 to my Son in Law. I kept the Mossburg 590 riot gun. I traded the other four for a Pedersoli sporting rifle in 45-70 in almost new condition and got back $300 on the deal. YESSS!!!!!
I finally scored a Sharps in 45-70! I know nothing about them but this one looks of quality and feels great!!! I need a Creedmore sight to make it the way I want it and I am set. Well until the next deal

I dearly love my Shiloh, but have been bested many a time by those Pedersolis. Save that $300, you're going to need it for the sights!
For sticker shock value: Buffalo Arms and Jeff's Outfitters.

Now you can use that $300 to get a decent tang sight. Minimum, Pedersoli's USA 406. Brownell's carries that one at a better price than anyone I've seen.

Better hurry since the 406 is the only thing they have left right now. The Hadley eyecup is another good thing to have.
You'll also have to go with the tallest Lyman #17 or other "high priced" front globe sight.
Score you some REAL powder, I'm talkin' Goex FFg or Cartridge Grade, or Swiss 1 1/2. Find a copy of the old Ideal 457125 with the "undersize" nose. (It shoots better in mine than either of the 500+ gr "pointy" bullets) Cast up a bunch in 30-1 and lube with 50/50 beeswax/Bore Butter or 50/50 BW/ olive oil.
You just let yourself in for a LOT of fun, especially if you shoot black.
