My apologies to the community...

Post by AmBraCol »

I got a private message the first thing this morning. A call for "Help!" - the forum was down. I'm not sure why, but there was a problem with the database. It's now repaired and should be functioning. I also took the time to download a backup of the site (so it took a little longer to get back online) "just in case". Hopefully it was just a blip and we should be up to normal again. Also, the bandwidth was almost out for the month, I've gone ahead and upgraded it so that shouldn't be a problem anytime soon.

Again, I apologize for the problem and we'll do our best to keep it from happening again, but we will definitely do our best to get it running ASAP if it DOES occur once more. I'm no database whiz so have to depend on the built in tools on the site.

Now, back to our regular program...

Thanks for your time, effort, and trouble to get the forum back up, and keep things running!

Did it cost extra to get the extra band width?

Is there somewhere that we can send money to help keep the site up and cover working expenses?

I don't always have time to read or post much while I have a house project going, but this is the first place I come to look and hang out when I do have time. It's worth supporting.

Howdy, Malamute.

There's a drive on right now for the hosting costs. The info is here:

We ran out of room before the end of the month, but I got it upgraded and soone we'll have enough bandwidth that such an occurrence (running out of bandwidth) will be a distant memory. :-)

Now Terry, I AIN'T PC. When I took over hosting responsibilities I kinda took on a "camp cook" position. And if the cook lets the fire go out and the coffee get cold, well he'd better apologize. :D But if folks complain 'bout the biscuits and such - they'd best watch out.  8)
