Custom Armaloy Marlin 1894c
I ran across this one at a local gunshop that usually has completely outrageous prices, but this one was $415 and I snapped it up.
It's a pre-safety Marlin 1894c that has been Armaloy plated, the buttplate has been replaced with a a metal buttplate, similar to a saddle ring carbine buttplate. The action is super smooth, I just brough it home yesterday and haven't had it to the range yet. The optic is a Swift Firefly red dot sight.

Better buttplate than most, though Marlin's rubber ones are nice.
I like the finish - appears like 'satin stainless' in photos.
Might not be SAFE to shoot, though, so if you want to send it my way for a year or two of exhaustive testing, feel free. I'll even provide my own ammo...

Armaloy??? That's a name I haven't seen in a long time.
Looks like you did well at that price.

IF properly done an Armaloy plating job is as good or better than a custom shop slick up job. Lowers the friction factor and is as durable as stainless in rust resistance. You done good. Good Luck.

Different , but dang fine looking rifle . You did great. I have never heard of that type finish . Reckon it must be ok though, as the others commented . I really like it .
The butt plate is one I'd like to put on several of my own guns.

Re: Custom Armaloy Marlin 1894c
When I first saw it, I thought it was a stainless 1894c and the $415 price made me take a second look. As soon as I cycled the action I knew this one was coming home with me, it's the slickest Marlin I've ever handled.
The buttplate is a nice added touch, but whoever did the wood took off too much metal in the wrist and the tang is proud of the wood now. I can live with it.

$415 isn't a bad price. You could always replace the buttstock. Neat, neat, neat...

I always loved the old write-ups on Armaloy. Never had the opportunity to own one but I'd say you are very fortunate.

Mine looks just like that one. But eabco called it french grey. I don't really know what it is, but it's really a hard finish.
Re: Custom Armaloy Marlin 1894c
Armaloy is still in business, several locations across the country. I looked at the website for the one in Fort Worth and they still do firearms plating.Ron Macy wrote:I always loved the old write-ups on Armaloy. Never had the opportunity to own one but I'd say you are very fortunate.
