OT: Blue Skies & Contrails ?

Post by Pete44ru »

The developing Boeing 797 Passenger Jet.

Capacity = 1,000 passengers

And our new, semi-secret fighter/bomber - the prototype " Air Vehicle # 1 ", to be known as the F/A-37 (Mach 3.5 to Mach 4)

Image

The F/A-37 pic was taken on board the USS George Washington CVN-73 for catapult fit checks.
The Navy test pilot in the cockpit of the F/A-37 is LT Kara Wade.

You may want to check on the authenticity of these two photos. I believe they are fakes.

Both pictures are fakes. Boeing is not working on a 797 delta wing airliner. The Boeing picture is at least 4 years old. The "fighter" is a studio mockup for the film "Stealth" that was in production several years ago.
A quick Google gives dozens of sites for this info.

I did hear on NPR yesterday though that Boeing is making a new airliner that is making use of composites and different parts are being made in different parts of the world. Sorry, couldn't see the picture very well on the radio.

THE NEW BOEING AIRLINER WAS HERE IN RCSD A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO PRACTISING TOUCH-'N'-GOES IN THE ALWAYS ABUNDANT SOUTH DAKOTA WIND. IT WAS A PRETTY INTERESTING LOOKING AIRLINER WITH TWO HUGE ENGINES.
