Win. 88 - Birthday info please

Post by Charles »

Well, I walked in my favorite 'hock shop' and they had a really good Winchester 88 (.308) in the rack. It has an off brand (Red Arrow) Jap scope on it and after the dicker the price was $450.00. I am cash poor right now, but it went on lay-a-way.

Here is the serial number, anybody know when it was made?.. 149719A

I already have an 88 in .308 and don't need another...but what can I say...I am so weak!!

Or so smart.

1964

They started with #148859 and made a 11449 in 64. So, it looks like you have one of the earliest after the change over.

Mine seems to shoot Federal 150s the best.
