Spencer: A Levergun??
Do you'll consider a Spencer a levergun? It has a reloading magazine and works with a lever. Coarse you do have to cock a hammer. There were more Spencers produced and sold than all the early Winchesters combined. (1860 Henry, 1866, 1873, 1876, 1886)

Yep.
I'd like to get a Spencer carbine. I've handled a few originals but never got to actually shoot one, yet. I'd want a Romano .56-50. However, I'm waiting until after the election for such a thing.

Yes - though I wouldn't call it the "classic" definition of a lever-action. When one says "lever-action" most people think of Winchesters or Marlins or clones - a rifle or carbine holding more than one round where the action of the lever ejects the empty case, loads a new cartridge, and cocks the hammer in one full motion.
