New Winchester Teddy Roosevelt .405 ammo

Post by crs »

The 2008 Shooters Guide came in the mail today and it has reports on all types of guns, ammo, and accessories. The Ammo article includes a Winchester section that reports on their new Tedddy Roosevelt line of cartridges, one of which is the .405 Winchester with a 300 grain flat point bullet. No other specs are provided.
This is one factory ammo type that I gotta see. I hope it is a Nosler partition flatpoint like the Winchester Partition Gold.

Has anyone actually seen any of this new ammo yet?

Couple of other interesting things in the mag too:
1, "Two legs up" pistol ad by EAA featuring Heather.
2. Turnbull ad for their new 1886 .475 Turnbull. Pretty gun, but the ballistics quotes are much the same as hot .45-70 loads. mmm?

I too am interested in the TR .405 ammo. I got a box each of the John Wayne Commemorative to put on the shelf.

Another vote for the EAA ad.

I'm sure that if it was a partition, they would be hyping it up big time. Even low tech, it could work just fine at those velocities. Sure couldn't be any worse than the Hornady 300FP, or at least I hope not.

Whew, big discount for a case huh?

I won't be buying any of that ammo, at least not at the MSRP. I would think that if it was a Nosler bullet they would be sure to make it known.
