Hi All
Still searching for a 22LR lever action, and I have come across an Erma rifle in a local firearms dealer. I can't seem to find much info on this maker, other than that they are German. Generally things made in Germany are of pretty good quality (my BMW certainly is ) but I just wondered if anybody had any first hand experience.
Cheers
Dan

Re: Erma rifles
I had an Erma .22 lever action when I was a full time gamekeeper, as Terry said they are the same design as the new Henry lever action.
Mine was accurate, reliable and very smooth. If I didn't have a Win.9422 I would buy a new Henry or a used Erma tomorrow.

Dan,
Erma= Ithaca 72= Iver Johnson Wagonmaster= Today's Henry H001-series. The Henry is made in America. The others were all made in Germany. here are some things to read:

Re: Erma rifles
Compaired side to side the Henry is a nicer looking rifle to me American made, and is in production, meaning parts and manufacture warrenty. The other is getting to be a collectable in this area and priced to that market.

Re: Erma rifles
I had one briefly about 20 years ago. My rifle would jam if I cycled it quickly.
The metal work was also Aluminium from memory and scratched easily.
I traded up to a Winchester 9422 which I consider to be a far superior firearm.
