OT - What happened to YK..?

Post by deerwhacker444 »

Is he still down from back problems..? Got to thinking, haven't seen him post on here in a great while. Haven't seen Tycer in a while either. Hope all is well with the stalwarts.

They've all been around. I traded a couple pm's with YK a couple days ago. All is well as far as I know.

I haven't been on much lately myself. This is a very busy time of year for me and at the end of the day I usually don't feel like doing much besides hitting the sack!

Someone stole YK's slippers. He said he was going out for a new pair and never came back.

You fellas know me too well.

I'm here, but I haven't posted nearly as much. Figured after 12 thousand posts I've said more than what you all want to hear anyway!

Seriously though, work has just been, well, a lot of work. I'm not complaining - I know many who would tradly trade places with me. I'm lucky to get here in the morning for a bit before starting the day. I used to do a lot of my forum time at night, but have been slogging away at e-mails for work until 11:00pm or later, and usually I'm just too tuckered out to do any more.

My recovery from surgery is going slow, but in the right direction. I still don't have all my energy back, but that will come. Still fighting to get a decent night sleep as well - which has impacted my posting too. Sometimes you'll see me post at 3:00am - another sleepless night. A couple-few of those in a row and I may miss for days since I'm going to bed at 8:00pm, then trying to make up the loss of time available to keep up with e-mails.

I did get out last week while on Spring Break to take Y2K to the range. We shot the "new" (to me) Tokarev I got a few weeks ago and my 1st year Ruger Blackhawk flat-top in .357/.38. This is the one that I put the customized "Gadsen Flag" (DONT TREAD ONE ME) polymer grips on last year. The Tokarev worked flawlessly, but it's accuracy was poor. Could be the ammo (Polish bulk fodder), could be the magazine, probably was the fact I could barely make out the sights! It was a mini flame-thrower though, and it's bark made others at the range jump! Y2K enjoyed it a lot.

We were shooting catsneeze loads in the Ruger. Fun, but Y2K wanted more power. I keep forgetting he's growing up way too fast!

Thanks for asking!!! :D

The new slippers are for when he's got to make an impression. Company must be coming over. :D

Good to see you're still with us.
I don't think anyone here could fill your slippers! :D

That 7.62x25 is a real screamer!
Try some different stuff. Some of the Eastern European stuff is real garbage and very corrosive.
I've found the Chinese ammo to be quite accurate and reliable but REALLY corrosive!

Best shooting Tokarev I've had was one of the Polish Radoms.
I sold all of mine when their prices started going way up.
I did keep my CZ 52. Real shooter!
My Dad has a pretty good collection of Tokarevs. He had one Chinese beater semi- customized into
a camp/trail/defensive pistol. Carries it everywhere. I'll have to "borrow" that one while he's off sailing.
