Great day at the silhouette range

Post by El Chivo »

Well, I'm a little psyched because I had my best score at silhouette today, I shot a 37. This was in the pistol cartridge category with my Win 94 Legacy in .357, 24" barrel, tang sight, mild loads using Blue Dot. I think I'm finally getting used to my trigger.

Last weekend we had a match and I had to fight the wind, but not today. It was sunny and clear, chilly but very pleasant.

I still haven't gotten 10 rams in any category, but I got 9 today. I was shaking like a leaf afterwards. Whew!

Anyway, I look forward to seeing some of you guys beat that on March 16.

Something to be very proud of. A "37" is the top score at our gunclub. My best was a 34 but I usually get in the 28-31 range.--------Good shootin'! :D --------Sixgun

Well, at the cost of exposing my ignorance, how big is the ram, and how far away? I will need to make something up to practice on!

Sobenk,
congratulations!

CowboyTutt,
the body of the ram in pistol cartridge is about 6 inches from belly to back and about 12 inches from rump to breast. They are shot at 100 meters.

Here's an NRA link with scale drawings of the targets. We shoot the hunter pistol targets in pistol cartridge and smallbore cowboy.
