. I have been reading every piece of info i can get my hands on about these. I have been carrying an Officers size 1911, but there are a ton of times it gets left in the truck because it is still pretty big. I don't get this excited about "new" firearms very often and prefer to spend my money, like most of the rest of you do ----- on wheelguns and leverguns and various other "obsolete" firearms, but this little thing has me drooling
I want a "deep cover" type firearm and almost drunk-bid on a Seecamp after i coon-fingered one at the range (would still be my choice for the ultimate in concealment also) , but the better part of reason caught up with me and i decided i wanted to hold out for something i could potentially have some pride of ownership in as well. I am a big guy and my daily dress requirements are business casual , so i can probably conceal a bit bigger sidearm than the Seecamp effectively. As well, the 238 has functional sights and operates very similar to a "real" 1911. It is kind of the modern re-incarnation of the Mustang, without all the bugs.
That said, this months American Rifleman review stated they had some incidents and it needed to be broken in like most pocket autos. But this is a pistol i would actually enjoy putting a few rounds downrange with. The following link to a youtube review was done by an impartial guy who is not on Sig's payroll and it is fairly comprehensive.
I cant believe i dont have one of these yet, but the harsh realities of a slow economy are finally hitting me. Perhaps by the time spring rolls around and i need to start dressing lighter, i will have one of these of my own to post , but in the meantime, the 3.5" 1911 works OK with winter wear
