Wow....I can't believe that was a Bear archery ad.
"If ever a time should come, when vain and aspiring men
shall possess the highest seats in Government,
our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots
to prevent its ruin." Samuel Adams
I remeber almost all of those adds except that one. I must have had very limited reading material, or perhaps that was a european market add? I remember wanting to try one of those Jennings wheel bows but never did. Stuck mostly with the bear bows. If I only knew, I'm sure I would not have ever been interested in a Jennings.
Mike Johnson,
"Only those who will risk going too far, can possibly find out how far one can go." T.S. Eliot
So Winchester and Bear bows used advertising such as this
back in the day. Makes me wonder if there are others I missed out on.
I also wonder why and when did advertising like this change.
It really does make great advertising sense.
We all know what gender the products were geared for at the time.
In my mind the advertisements were tastefully and respectfully done.
I've read about this before, if memory serves, this was run in Playboy magazine back in the '70s. Don't remember seeing it in Bowhunter magazine though.
I don't think Lady J should try to do "that" pose, however the one down near the bottom with the gal in the 60's clothes an 70s hair would be a hoot if you could duplicate it.
I think ceb is right about that one add being a Playboy add. I don't think we would have seen it in Field and Stream.

Amazing -- being born in 1971, i guess i narrowly missed out on all that craziness. I remember tho when OJ Simpson was the Dingo boots spokesperson though, not to mention Converse Tony dorsett football cleats.

WOW! Talk about an ice cold dose of reality ....

Back when I was a kid... late 60's early 70's most of what I knew about older girls was learned from the Ridgid Tool Calenders that hung around various workshops I could visit.
Cheesecake photos is Male targeted ads... I wish we would go back to that. It just isnt PC to do so... but what passes for pornography is "over the top" these days.
always press the "red" button--- it's worth the effort and the results can be fun
