Hey guys- I've been lurking quite a while and actually registered earlier in the year...but couldn't find that info to login
Anyhoo- for the past year I've been learnin' myself on Winchesters...1894's and 94's. I started looking for an early 1894 in WCF 30, then a pre-64 in 30-30...but over the year have refined my search/desire for a 45 long colt chambered model, preferably in a 16" barrel. I seem to have a harder time finding info on the more recent Winchesters than the ones that are pre-war! Where can I find info on the years that models were offered in this round?

There were no lever guns chambered in .45 Colt manufactured prior to 1985 by anyone.
Winchester ( USRAC ) introduced the .45 Colt ( no long to it ) to the Winchester 94AE Trapper line in 1985. It was produced from then until 2005 when USRAC went belly up.
They made the .45 Colt version in the Trapper, Carbine, and rifle versions.
They are popular and in spite of those who badmouth the pistol cartridge 94s work very well. My own 85 vintage model has digested well over 3,000 rounds of anything and everything .45 Colt without a burp.
Keep looking, they do show up on the forum ( this one and other ) classifieds from time to time. Be careful though or you might suffer a severe case of sticker shock.

If you'd REALLY like a Model 92 in .45 Colt, Winchester has Miroku (who made the Browning Model 92's) brand a few different versions for them a few years ago; and Rossi has been making .45 Colt Model 92's for years, that are relatively inexpensive (>$400/delivered, new from Buds gun shop online).

I've heard a couple nay sayers concerning the pistol rounds, but nowhere near the number of positive testimonials as yours above.
The classifieds here worked out well for me, thanks to Kooz! -I subscribe to the 'you get what you pay for' theory, so I was prepared!
