Post by Lefty Dude »

I just returned from Wally-World and they have the 70th Anniversary Red Rider BB gun on sale for $25.00 in the Arizona stores.
Looks like I need one, just because.

Remember what Mom used to say? "You'll shoot your eye out!" seriously though, Blaine, you should buy it, try it, and post your targets on the website. As I recall, nobody ever "shot anyone's eye out" but we did manage to nail a lot of tin cans, rats at the town dump, and barn pigeons with these. Ah, the good ole days!

Yep, they're a hoot!

The one I got for Jr. way back when was a commemorative of some kind. It has a medallion in the stock that say Red Ryder 1938 and a bunch of other stuff I can't see without my glasses. It's about 20 years old or so. I got it for him when he couldn't even cock it himself. Ain't that the way it's supposed to work?

Bought one for my son (30 years old) and grandson (3 years old) just could not resist. Will make a great Christmas gift. The reason they droped the price is that they will no longer carry them.

I've got my dad's old Red Ryder, I'm guessing it's 65-70 years old. It works, although you can watch the bb launch out and hit the ground about 5' away. Still, there's some history there. I'd love to get a new one just for kicks & giggles.

I've got a 70s vintage model 25 pump..More zip than the RR ... I ran some lead 177 BBs thru it...I knocked off a dumb rat at about 10 feet that stopped and looked at me... it knocked him right over and he hardy twitched..

I have a Sheridan Blue Streak 22 pellet gun that keeps up with the 22 shorts.
It's just not the same as a Red Ryder. The RR maybe slow, but it's more fun. Cause it has a Lever.
