OT - Prayer request please

Post by rjohns94 »

Had a driver broadside me today while I was driving in my truck. Would appreciate your prayers. I'm ok and so is the other driver. The truck is not I think. The wheel is messed up tilted in on topside, out on bottom side and way to the right. All sorts of stuff busted behind it. I'm hoping it is not totaled. thanks for the prayers. Could have been worse, could have been on my harley

Mike,

I'm glad you're OK, but just to be sure get thyself to the hospital or DR and make sure. Owies can come to haunt you later.

Prayers sent. You're gonna be sore today bud. Take it easy for a few and let the insurance worry about the truck. Glad you're ok.

Done, and glad no one was injured!.

And since you're ok; you know on this site we need pics and info; like velocity, impact angle, projectile deformation, etc!

Mike, so very thankful neither you nor the other driver were seriously hurt. Still, there's almost always trauma in a hard collision, especially to the neck and back. These injuries don't always show up on the day of the accident. Please see your doctor if you haven't already.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, my friend.

Absolutely!! Don't be stubborn and tough it out like you always do. Get thee to a doctor!

Usually sorest the few days after. Doctors Rx muscle relaxers to take especially at bedtime (daytime optional due to drowsiness), but overall approach is RELAX those muscles before bedtime so they can get some blood flow and heal during the night; during the day they're working, and even at night won't get much blood flow if in spasm. Heat, liniment, gentle massage and stretch. Don't "surprise" them either - an unexpected motion can get them to spasm again (they're kind of 'jumpy' right now, since they've been ripped up a bit).

Prayers sent. As others have said, sometimes injuries take awhile to become apparent. I got rear ended many years ago and I was fine until one day SIX MONTHS LATER, my upper back fell apart. Doc took xrays, and after looking at them, asked me if I'd been in a car wreck recently. I told him I'd been rear-ended about six months ago. He said that had reversed the curvature of my upper spine (whiplash), resulting in my current discomfort. (major understatement!) Might want to get yourself looked at...
