Thanks for the support. While this region has not seen the concentrated carnage of recent Philadelphia or Oakland, between shootings and traffic incidents, causing fatalities and crippling injuries, the recent past has been quite hard on the peace officer community around here. (Houston area and surrounding counties, SE TX)

Even the seemingly miraculous near-misses will weigh on one's mind. Then, there have been the several tragic suicides.

An old Chinese curse is worded to the effect of "May you line in interesting times." Life has been a bit too interesting lately.
