This is tragic, indeed. May the officer rest in peace; prayer said for his family.

What is this world coming to? (OTOH, nothing really surprises me anymore.) Locally, we just had an ACTIVE police officer kidnap his ex-girlfriend, also an active police officer, at gunpoint. When troopers cornered him inside a vacant house, he fired at them. He ended up releasing his hostage and shooting himself. I guess that is a better outcome than the Rangers and/or Houston PD SWAT showing up and having to ventilate a fellow peace officer gone bad. I don't have a link handy, and don't want to sidetrack this thread, anyway, but it happened in the Katy, Texas area.

A very tragic situation. It appears in what little I can glean from the article that Delgado had issues. He was an officer in the U.S. Virgin Islands for four years and then is pushing a shopping cart in Tampa. Sounds to me like he's homeless. I'm guessing, but it appears he may have a mental illness or disease. It doesn't help the Officer's family or him. You never know what you're going to get into on the street. Condition yellow always and ramp it up if needed.

Rexster, I heard about that one near Katy. One of the Highway Patrolmen on the S.W.A.T. team is the husband of a co-worker. Jorge is an ex-Marine, and a good man, and he had to go there. Bad situation.

Prayers sent for the slain Officer and others affected. RIP Sir.

Gosh, even the words "Thank You for Your Service" seem so hollow at this time...

It is always a sad day when someone
who decided the job to "Protect and
Serve" was for them...and then lose their life in the line of duty.

Looks like the Thin Blue Line just
got a bit thinner. Sad.

Rest in Peace Cpl. Roberts

The thin blue line is thinner yet again; Pasadena PD, in Texas, lost one this morning in a shoot-out, at a domestic disturbance scene. Domestics are dangerous. Last night, which was before the Pasadena incident, I was at a domestic disturbance without back-up. While ringing the doorbell, I had my "roving" gun, an SP101 snubby, discreetly palmed. I wasn't standing in line with the door, either. They knew I was there.

Very sad. Animals are replacing decent human beings and the Liberals are enabling it to happen.

You ought to come up to Philly---5 were KIA this year and 7 in the last 18 months
