I was just chuckling to myself over 86er's request for help last year in obtaining some special Hershey candy bars. I myself have a sweet tooth that is going to be the death of me someday - but I will die happy! I think my favorite is a Heath bar - I love toffee. Raisinets, Snow Caps, Junior Mints, 3 Musketeers, Zero bars are all up there as well. I usually treat myself to a Dairy Queen "Blizzard" with double the Heath bar on my way back from my trips to Atlanta. There have been times when I have been out and simply ordered the dessert instead of a meal. No wonder I can't lose any weight!
Thanks for reminding me, Jay! Me and my Type 2 would have to vote for:
Big Hunk, Look, Charleston Chew, Male Hershey Chocolate Bar, Peanut M&Ms, Walnetnos...

I don't do a whole lotta candy, when I do, it's usually a Snickers bar. Pastries, on the other hand, are my weakness. Gimme a warm peach cobbler with lots of ice cream on top, some white chocolate chip with Macadamia nut cookies, iced brownies or like goodies and I'm happier than a dead pig in the sunshine! (we need a lip-smacking smiley).
I don't care much for chocolate but that Laffy Taffy is pretty addicting. I also love Starburst, Jolly Ranchers,Werthers and Skittles. I guess I do love penut butter M&M's too.

I am a supplier to a Russel Stover Candy plant. Often, they have complimentary boxes of reject candy, some little flaw that hurts nothing but looks, and I get a pound of it or so. Not good for the waistline, but sure good chocolate.
To hell with them fellas, buzzards gotta eat same as the worms.

milk chocolate from hersheys, snickers, milky way (frozen) I try to avoid candy though. I do own 5 vending machines for candy and have them placed. Popular favorites are Good and plenty, plain m&m's, peanut m&m's, cashews(not candy I know), skittles, sour skittles. I use the proceeds from the machines to sponsor children in Ethiopia through compassion international.

+ 3 for Hershey Milk Chocolate Bar,..... although, has to be with almonds!
flatnose - try licorice twist (comes in black or red color). Somewhat easy to find and I think the same as your aniseed favorite.

Anything from "World's Finest Chocolate". We used to sell those for fund raising when I was in Little League Baseball. The chocolate covered almonds are killer!
Also, I wish I could find some "Fortune Bubble" bubble gum. It was the best tasting bubble gum and had those profound little fortunes. They used to sell them for a penny a stick. I would buy a bag full, then take it to school and sell them for 10 cents each! The American way, baby!

KING SIZE "Frozen" Snickers Bar, with a bottle of RED CAT Wine.
This wine according to the makers has a secret afrodizac in and everyone seems to agree.
Cut the frozen sickers into bite size squares on tooth picks/serve barely chilled RED CAT/Burn Yankee Macintosh candle/on porch just as sun sets and play Stairway to Heaven on Martin Guitar and for me
its a Lucky Night(every time)

Must be one of those deja vu all over again things. I'm not a big candy fan but just this week I had a pang for some southern style pecan pralines. Being that I'm the head cook and bottle washer here, literally, I made up a batch last Monday. First time I've done those in about 20 years.
PRALINE PECAN CANDY
2 c. sugar
2 c. dark brown sugar
1 small can cream (evaporated milk)
1/4 lb. unsalted butter (stick)
1 c. pecans (I like roasted pecans for a slightly nuttier flavor))
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
In a large pan, mix sugar and cream well. Place on moderate heat and boil. Cook mixture until a ball forms when you drop it in cold water. Remove from heat. Add butter and pecans. Beat by hand for approximately 3 minutes. (If candy starts to become too hard, add just a little cream.) Drop, using a large spoon, onto waxed paper. Makes approximately 24 pralines. Or do like I did, just pour it all out on Pammed tinfoil and spread it out for one gaint praline and once it hardens just break off a piece.
Although spending more is not always an indication. Up at the mall there's a store selling chocolates from Belgium, claimed to be the world's best. They were giving away samples (because they couldn't sell any at $60 a pound) and I tried one. It actually had less flavor than most chocolate, but the consistency was very smooth, it had a very low melting point.
One of the greats is Frango Mint (and other varieties) available at Marshall Field's in Chicago. You can get it mail order. Excellent flavor, a little salty gets it just right, perfect consistency. Price is high but not obscene.
As far as regular brands, I think Dove dark chocolate is the winner. A close second would be Turtles.
I used to love "Non-Pareils" which were dark chocolate discs with tiny white beads imbedded in the top. I also go for Raisinets.

When I first started driving years ago I picked up a load of M&M's in Hershey, PA. When I went to sign my paperwork they dropped this 5# bag of M&M's on top as a treat.
I'm with you YK. When I lived in Illinois, I worked at the Heath Candy company as a wrapping machine mechanic. Nothing like picking up a Toffee bar fresh from the belt as they come down to the wrappers. But have to watch now since being proclaimed diabetic last year after my physical.
