Did you note the gun control arguments presented in the last movie? I know those who actually read the books are way ahead on this one but...

Yes, but the IMO the books actually get a little better when they start showing what happens to society when the Government starts taking "wands" away from the people who the Ministry doesn't feel should have them.

Things get ugly fast. (book 7).

But it's a fairly minor subtext.

While I am total agreement with you boys on the "happy ending" thing, I personally would not have done that. I would have waited a bit to see how things unfolded and then make my move. Yes...I know its the righteous thing to do but...........the good guy could have been in one huge mess had the bad guy decided to raise his gun. Like, he could have lost everything he ever worked for by an innocent person being shot, and the good guy would be in the big house

You know what they say when someone is robbing for cash or material items. Let 'em have it. Now......if the bad guy was holding the gun on YOU, thats a different story as your life is in danger. If the bad guy is robbing someone else in a crowded place, more than likely he is gonna "book" when he gets the cash. I'm not sure if I am gonna risk my life, innocent peoples lives, or my families well being UNLESS I know the bad guy IS going to do harm--like firng a shot---but then, it might be too late for the cashier.--------------Sixgun

Good for Charlie! Too bad he didn't whack the varmint, though.

Generally speaking, once the bad guy has pulled iron and
threatened somebody with it, the good guy pretty much has
the green light . Yelling, "Gimme your money!" while
brandishing a shootin' iron and wearing a ski mask has a
certain implied threat to it. The poor cashier is obviously in fear
of death or grave bodily injury, the perp has the means, motive
and opportunity to harm her, and there is no obvious and
easy avenue of escape for the employee from the situation
without exposing herself to the same or greater danger. That
said - "Shoot!!"

Follow the four rules as laid down by Cooper - especially #4 -
and get on with it. Self-defense law usually allows one to defend
oneself or another in the above situation.

Lucky dude, cool head too. I'm glad no one was hurt. I mean , it would be nice to see the crook smoked, but I'm sure it would have been a little hard on our good guys nerves.

I think he did the right thing, as dangerous as it was.

Fortune favors the brave.
