OT Range Report - Using a Rock to Kill an Arrow...
I guess this kind of bow must really be hard on arrows - I wouldn't recommend one. My son is an avid bow shooter, and thought he was getting a good deal on a new bow, but when he went out to shoot it (at a 30-yard target), it went and tore up his arrows he'd worked so hard on to hand-fletch. Really makes me mad. Here's a photo of the second and third arrows he ever fired from the bow...
Disgraceful.
I can't believe they make bows that do this kind of thing, especially to a young kid...

Nice shot!
That's as good as a 2-shot group as you can get!
My twin brother did that once -- over many years -- and still has the arrows in the cellar as a keepsake.
Of course, I kept telling him to take a 3rd shot, but he didn't................
Oh, and fine looking young man and a nice bow too!

Very kewl. I have all my "Robin Hoods" saved since I first started shooting. guess he will have to shift to a three spot target to avoid those. Very nice. Congrats. May it be the first of many more. Blessings

Great shooting! I am lucky if I can keep a 3" group at 25 yards.

Well, I see we've found Robin Hood. Where's his merry men?
Just kidding. That's really good shooting.

I was thinking that's a really long arrow......then I looked at the second pic.

I've been bowhunting 18 years and I've NEVER shot a Robin Hood.......That's awesome! Many wishes for many more. Thanks, Tom

Good shot! I'm lucky if I don't have to root through the grass and leaves to find mine.
Re: OT Range Report - Using a Rock to Kill an Arrow...
Good shootin! My son did the same thing with his Darton a while after he got it. He didn't see the value of keeping the arrows together as a trophy and took them apart so he could still use the one in the rear.
I've never done it with my longbow, but I did cut one of his arrows in half one time when we were checking our broadhead flight. It's really cool to see the spiral of the arrow as it cuts a shaft like that in two.

Your boy looks tickled pink -I love seeing kids playing Archery - greatest game on earth been in it over 30 years myself . All encouragement to him .
I did that once near 30 years ago , a fella bet me I could not repeat my dead centre shot I did - I covered up my surprise and acted very cool but I was thrilled to bits . I sold the arrows to another fella who thought it was the greatest thing he'd ever seen . A Journalist member of the club at the time sent in the photo to the now defunct Australian Outdoors magazine , had my copy for years but lost it along the way .
regards Jacko

Looks like that bow can really shoot tight groups!

God shooting. He ought to send those pictures to the company that made the bow. Maybe they'd give him some consideration for future parts, etc..

Now that is what I call doing some real shooting.
He should send a pic of that into Ted Nugent(Spirit Of The Wild)show
I bet Ted would really get a kick out of that one and probably put in on his letter section of his show!
Great Job!!(been bow shooting 25 years and never had em stick like that)

That's just awesome. Give him a big congrats from me.
Re: OT Range Report - Using a Rock to Kill an Arrow...
Eons ago, I did the same thing. I was using a fiberglass recurve. Had it not been for my sister, who witnessed it, no one would have believed it. Had that thing hanging on my bedroom wall till I went into the service. When I got back, it was gone. Too bad, I thought it was cool. Have that framed for the youngman. It's a rare occurance, and one that will stick in his memory for the rest of his life.

Re: OT Range Report - Using a Rock to Kill an Arrow...
You reminded me of my first shot with my "new bow". When I was a freshman in high school I bought my first ever compound bow. I'd shot plenty of wood and fiberglass long bows as a kid, instinctively of course. So when I bought this new compound bow I though "I don't need no stupid sights."
Out in my back yard, my very first shot... went past the target, THROUGH the fence, and into a piece of diamond plate steel leaning against the shed. One shot, one arrow with a 90º bend in the middle. "Maybe I DO need sights."

Great shooting!! I'm not much of a bowman, but used to have a dart board growing up. Did that quite a number of times with darts (much easier, I know), and even had a few triples.
No matter how you cut it, it's impressive!! Kudos to your boy.
