OT- Anyone want to loan me a couple bucks for this lever
Maybe if I pray hard enough, I too will get a bail out check.

Thats one nice looking rifle. If I could scratch up the cash, I think I would get it. that might just be the ultimate lever gun in my mind

It is a great looking lever, but I couldn't take it out anywhere. I shoot all of mine once in a while. I would be to worried about scratching that one. Well, I guess I save me some money.

Well, just shooting it would devalue it, kinda like driving a car away from the show room, but that does not keep me from driving a new vehicle. i would shoot the HECK out of that rifle and begin to give it character of a well used and treasured tool. Just my thoughts.

Beautiful! Its a Turnbull restoration -- shooting it shouldnt de-value it too much. If she were an original, that would be a different story
For 30 grand, you could almost go on a safari and chase a few of those animals engraved on the side !

Way to fancy to ride in the pickup and drag through the brush! I take care of my rifles, but I wouldn't want something I could not or would not use. Pretty is as pretty does, my Grandmother always said!

I second rangerider7's sentiments. I would be afraid of scratching it, and I am not rich enough to keep firearms just to be looked at and admired.

Buy it, throw it into a rough saddle scabard and ride off into the sunset!

+1 This one I would feel guilty about throwing behind the pickup seat...rangerider7 wrote:It is a great looking lever, but I couldn't take it out anywhere. I shoot all of mine once in a while. I would be to worried about scratching that one. Well, I guess I save me some money.

That starting price is $9500 off of what it's listed for on Turnbull's site. Such a deal. Pretty well done upgrade though. That 45-90 barrel is a might long for my tastes.
And yes, I would shoot it for sure.

Gee, only $30,000 and no bids yet. I can't believe it.

For that kind of money I would expect all the screw slots to be aligned.

+1 Plenty of guns I still want to get, but right now, given everything happening, I need to focus more on ammo and reloading components...madman4570 wrote:Fantastic Gun---Stunning

Re: OT- Anyone want to loan me a couple bucks for this lever
Beautiful rifle, but for that kind of money you could buy quite a few original Winchester's that only Mr Winchester has touched, nothing as good as an old original.
Re: OT- Anyone want to loan me a couple bucks for this lever
Turnbull's work is interersting, but what would you do with something like that? I would much rather spend that kind of cash on an original 1886 Deluxe .50 EX Lightweight rifle. Hail, you'd have cash left over for ammo, too.
